The Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort and Spa has opened its doors on Portugal's Algarve coast.

'As Cascatas' means 'watefalls' in Portuguese, and the resort is set in a garden paradise of waterfalls, lakes, grottos and garden pavilions.

Golfers can play a round at one of the seven adjacent courses or improve their skills in Portugal's first golf simulation centre, while spa lovers can enjoy one of the country's largest and most modern spa facilities, with a menu of over 30 different treatments.

Other leisure facilities at the resort include six swimming pools, two tennis courts and a private beach.
